~ SOLD OUT ~
Anna will not present her annual
Irish Christmas Party in the White Mountains
in November 2014, due to health issues which have to be addressed by her doctors in November 2014.
She deeply regrets any disappointment which may be caused to her many, many, “Forever Friends” who attend the Christmas Party year after year.
God willing, she will resume her Christmas Party in November 2015 and she looks
forward to seeing you all in 2015.
Notes for Baltic Cruise
As well as the below Notes & Tips, there are more 5 pages of helpful Notes from Anna, included in your final package as well as your full colour tour brochure, which has your day to day itinerary for the full cruise/tour.
On our BALTIC cruise/tour there will be many different currencies in the 7 countries we will visit. The easiest way to make purchases is to use a credit card (preferably VISA or MASTERCARD) for small purchases like a coffee and a pastry or for purchasing souvenirs. Using a credit card will save the bother of changing Canadian dollars into various different currencies, before departure, and also prevent being left with a lot of unused change from various different countries. ATM machines are available in all countries.
However, for those who wish to get Canadian dollars (CAD) changed before departure, I have a list of today’s rates (June 2nd 2014) per www.XEcurrency.com.
These rates change daily, however, you will get an idea of what $10.00 (CAD) would exchange to:
$10.00 CAD = 50.00 DKK (Danish Krone)
$10.00 CAD = 6.73 EURO (Euro for Germany, Estonia, Finland)
$10.00 CAD = 62.00 SEK (Swedish Krona)
$10.00 CAD = 322.00 RUB (Russian Rubles)
$10.00 CAD = 1,041.00 ISK (Iceland Krona)
American dollars are also accepted in Russia as well as Rubles.
UP TO DATE RATES CAN BE CHECKED ANYTIME AT WWW.XECURRENCY.COM or you can check exchange rates at your local banks.
On the cruise ship, you will not require any cash whatsoever, as drinks, purchases in the ship’s shops, dining in specialty restaurants etc., are all charged to your credit card, details of which will be requested from you, at Check In upon Embarkation. All on board charges will go on your credit card.
Should you visit the Casino to try some gaming, you will require cash.
We find that most people, who have sailed with us in the past, have booked their Shore Excursions after they have received their Final Documents packet from us, one month prior to departure. Shore Excursions may be booked online, at www.NCL.com/shoreexcursions or by calling (Toll Free) 1 866 625 1167.
To book Shore Excursions, you will need to have on hand, your NCL Cruise Booking Reference, (which will be with your Final Documents), the name of the ship, which is "the STAR" and the departure date of the cruise, which is September 4th, 2014, sailing from Copenhagen. You will be asked to create a password, (please keep your password in a safe place with you for future reference) and you can log in to book your Shore Excursions or to see your account at www.ncl.com at any time.
All information regarding your ship, cruising with NCL, onboard experiences etc. is all available at www.ncl.com, just scroll down to the very bottom of the home page (first page that opens) and you will see all the different categories of information available to you, re. your NCL cruise on their ship, the STAR.
WEATHER in early September – mid September in the Baltic countries is approx 15 - 18C during the daytime and cooler in the evenings. Iceland will be approx 10 - 13C during the day and cooler in the evenings.
Please pack your clothes accordingly. Items that can be layered is a good suggestion for this cruise/tour. We will have Baltic weather, which is usually quite nice in early - mid September, however, it is not as warm as Mediterranean weather.
HAIRDRYERS are available in all hotels everywhere and in your ship’s cabin. If you need to take any specialized electrical equipment with you for health reasons or etc., please check with the supplier of the equipment to ascertain what type of electrical adapter you will need to bring with you. A universal adapter, available in most electrical stores, is suitable for use with electric hair rollers or hair curling tongs.
Casual clothes are acceptable for all Dining. Shorts or swimsuits or flip flops, are not permitted in Fine Dining Rooms. There are three evenings when we enjoy our Private Cocktail Parties, with music and song, just for us, and afterwards we dine together as a Group, in the Versailles Fine Dining Room. If you wish to “doll up” a little bit for these three evenings, the choice is yours....you can wear anything from “smart casual” to a nice dress or dress pants and blouse. Gentlemen can wear a “smart casual” jacket and dress pants. Ties are optional, this is up to a gentleman’s own choice.
NCL were the initiators of Freestyle Cruising, therefore, during the days and evenings, leisure suits, jeans, cotton or linen pants and casual cotton tops or blouses are perfect. Likewise for the gentlemen (except for the blouses, lads!!).
Please bear in mind, if the air-conditioning is on, in the Fine Dining Rooms, it can be quite cool, so please bring a cardigan, sweater, or light shawl with you and for the gents, a sweater or light jacket, when going to dine there.
- Best Wishes to you, one and all
